And when you stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses

And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask anything according to his will, he heareth us    For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world even our faith    All things, whatsoever ye ask in prayer, believing, ye receive

The Tithe

Jesus thought so much about money, or the goods money would buy, that he talked about money or goods of some description or another over 2000 times, and only talked about prayer and faith just over 900 times. Where have we applied most of our time and effort? to prayer, fasting, and faith! Yes, these are important, but we should not have left that which the Lord thought so important to some other day to discuss. No wonder the Christian Church is so anemic when it comes to finances.

We seem to be the only institution in the world that is broke, and full of a bad report, when it comes to paying our bills, and always wanting people to give us something for nothing. The bible teaches we are to be the head and not the tail, to lend to many Nations, and not have need of borrowing. That the Government is upon our shoulders and of the increase of that government there will be no end. Government means leaders, those that have the ability to show others how it is done, both by knowing in their minds how to do it, and also showing by the outward appearance that what they know is a reality in their lives.

Does the Christian Church demonstrate that they are leaders, or are we demonstrating by our appearance and conversation that we are not sure whether prospering is for us?

DEUTERONOMY 28:1-15

1 And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the LORD thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth

2 And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God.

WANT MONEY?

God Loves You!

There is no problem with the Body of Christ having money, but there are warnings about money having us.

1 TIMOTHY 6:9

9 But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition.

1 TIMOTHY 6:11

11 But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.

1 TIMOTHY 6:14-21

14 That thou keep this commandment without spot, unrebukeable, until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ:15 Which in his times he shall show, who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of lords;16 Who only hath immortality, dwelling in the light which no man can approach unto; whom no man hath seen, nor can see: to whom be honor and power everlasting. Amen17 Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not high-minded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy;18 That they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to distribute, willing to communicate;19 Laying up in store for themselves a good foundation against the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life.20 O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane and vain babbling, and oppositions of science falsely so called:21 Which some professing have erred concerning the faith. Grace be with thee. Amen.

DEUTERONOMY 8:6-21

6 Therefore thou shalt keep the commandments of the LORD thy God, to walk in his ways, and to fear him.7 For the LORD thy God bringeth thee into a good land, a land of brooks of water, of fountains and depths that spring out of valleys and hills;8 A land of wheat, and barley, and vines, and fig trees, and pomegranates; a land of oil olive, and honey;9 A land wherein thou shalt eat bread without scarceness, thou shalt not lack any thing in it; a land whose stones are iron, and out of whose hills thou mayest dig brass.10 When thou hast eaten and art full, then thou shalt bless the LORD thy God for the good land which he hath given thee.11 Beware that thou forget not the LORD thy God, in not keeping his commandments, and his judgments, and his statutes, which I command thee this day:12 Lest when thou hast eaten and art full, and hast built goodly houses, and dwelt therein;13 And when thy herds and thy flocks multiply, and thy silver and thy gold is multiplied, and all that thou hast is multiplied;14 Then thine heart be lifted up, and thou forget the LORD thy God, which brought thee forth out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage;15 Who led thee through that great and terrible wilderness, wherein were fiery serpents, and scorpions, and drought, where there was no water; who brought thee forth water out of the rock of flint;16 Who fed thee in the wilderness with manna, which thy fathers knew not, that he might humble thee, and that he might prove thee, to do thee good at thy latter end;17 And thou say in thine heart, My power and the might of mine hand hath gotten me this wealth.18 But thou shalt remember the LORD thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth, (the power or ability to create wealth) that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day.19 And it shall be, if thou do at all forget the LORD thy God, and walk after other gods, and serve them, and worship them, I testify against you this day that ye shall surely perish.

As we start to see what the Word of God teaches about finances, some people seem to want to apply different rules to money than they do to any other subject matter in the rest of Gods' Word. In other words as we see a truth in Gods' Word on any other subjects in the Bible we jump to it, and start as soon as possible, but when it comes to finances, especially when we can not control how or where these monies are spent, we procrastinate, starting to bring the changes in our lives. But the Word of the Lord is very clear as we will see during this teaching on the Tithe. We are to bring our Tithes into the house of the Lord and leave it there, and the church or ministry where it is left has the responsibility before the Lord, to use it in a proper manner. It is not our right or responsibility to direct how the Lords' Tithe is to be spent. This is only taking about the Tithe and not offerings. We do have some say on how our offerings are spent. You will notice I have pulled out 1 Timothy 6:12, because I wanted to comment on this verse by itself. "Fighting the good Fight of Faith" is directly related to finances even though the principle of fighting the good fight of faith can and should be applied to every aspect of our Christian life, but it was expressly written in relationship to finances.

1 TIMOTHY 6:12 Fight the good fight of faith...lay hold..of eternal life

12 Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.

I would say one of the most important principles that we have in fighting the good fight is to recognize the meaning of the word witnesses. This word witnesses means many martyrs, by definition the word martyrs means to have died or completed the course you have started. The Apostle Paul new what he was saying, when he said confess a good profession or in other words a good confession before those who had finished their course. I am sure you will recognize it is easy to have people agree with you that things are not going right, that even though the promises are for them and you, those promises on finances sure don't seem to be working the way the preacher and my pastor said they would. Those who have finished their course, when it comes to finances, which is the area we are studying today are the people that have come through the fire and can stand with you and encourage you and give you practical and spiritual answers on how to overcome, not the ones that say yes I tried that "but". Butters are not over comers! Once we finish with some of the preliminary thoughts that need to be looked at, we will then go on to teach on the Tithe. We will be teaching on offerings and seed etc. in the next book on finances.

For those of you who believe that the Lord is against the Body of Christ being abundantly prosperous, then you will have to answer the question why, the Apostle Paul wrote and talked about the verses listed below

DOES GOD WANT US RICH?

11 CORINTHIANS 9:6-10 God gives seed to the Sower so as to Multiply

6 But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully.7 Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.8 And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work:9 (As it is written, He hath dispersed abroad; he hath given to the poor: his righteousness remaineth for ever.10 Now he that ministereth seed to the Sower both minister bread for your food, and multiply your seed sown, and increase the fruits of your righteousness;)

11 CORINTHIANS 8:9 Jesus became poor so you & I could become rich

9 For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich.

GALATIANS 3:29 We are Abraham's seed & heirs according to the promise

29 And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.

GALATIANS 4:7 We are Sons of God not servants

7 Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ. Servants of course do not receive an inheritance. But sons do. So Paul is saying here I am a son first so I will receive my inheritance, then I am a servant next by choice.

ROMANS 8:17 We are Heirs, and joint Heirs with Jesus Christ

17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.

As we look at Jesus we see He came to:

A) To fulfill the Law MATTHEW 5:17-18

B) Add to the Law MATTHEW 22:37-40,

C) Make a new Law MARK 12:30-31

MATTHEW 5:17-18

17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill.18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.

MATTHEW 22:37-40

37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.38 This is the first and great commandment.39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

MARK 12:30-31

30 And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.31 And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.

Jesus also did something else just as important, when He spoke, He confirmed Pre-Law
